Equality Michigan Action Network engages political leaders and voters to act on the issues that matter most to LGBTQ+ Michiganders. We provide policy expertise to propel our mission: To achieve full equality and respect for all Michigan residents regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
We have been the leading non-partisan political advocacy voice for Michigan’s LGBTQ+ community for more than 25 years, advocating for inclusive laws and holding public officials accountable to ensure the advancement of policies needed to achieve and protect equality in our state.
We endorse candidates that support protections and rights for individuals regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. The Equality Michigan Action Network is here to organize for the political interests of LGBTQ+ individuals and allies, and elect leaders who share our values.
We invite candidates who believe they share our values to join our efforts and apply for recognition as a Pro Equality Champion. Upon notifying us of your intent to seek our endorsement, we will ask you to complete a questionnaire that we will use to determine who to recognize in the primary and general elections.
Candidate’s public statements for or against LGBTQ+ equality may be taken into account, and for incumbent or former members running for an elected office, we will also review voting records. Our endorsement list will be available on our website at equalitymiaction.org and shared publicly.
Candidates seeking an endorsement from Equality Michigan Action Network should complete and submit the below questionnaire by May 31, 2026 for the possibility to be included in early endorsement rounds.
